Welcome to Arrowhead Pointe at Lake Richard B. Russell

When is the best time to experience the beauty of Arrowhead Pointe?

Perhaps at dawn, long before the first golf cart has hit the course. When the first fingers of light push through our natural landscape to chase away lingering night shadows. Off in the distance, a tall white tail deer looks up cautiously, and then continues her morning walk. In the edge of the woods, it is common to see a large mother turkey with her young lurking out of the shadows of dawn.

There is a championship feel in the air here. Etched into the hilly countryside near Elberton, Georgia, we are off the beaten path bordering Lake Russell. In fact, as you drive through the park, you will not see a fairway or flagstick from the road. Arrive at our clubhouse, load up your clubs and experience one of the finest masterpieces in the Southeast.

Constant elevation change is the dominating feature of our Bob Walker-designed course. Many of our tee boxes are 20-30 feet above the greens, providing you with panoramic views of the Georgia countryside. From tee to green, you'll experience a golf course kept in pristine condition, with rolling fairways and meticulously manicured greens.

We have a large practice tee area that can accommodate as many as 30 golfers. Our spacious clubhouse provides you with a wide array of dining options, whether you…amp;trade;re just grabbing a sandwich on the turn or setting up a large outing or tournament. So popular is Arrowhead Pointe for dining in the Richard B. Russell State Park area that "Broken Arrow Grill" is a favorite in the local area among golfers and non-golfers alike.

Arrowhead Pointe is unmatched in the local area as a venue for outings and business meetings. It seems that just about every weekend during the summer we're hosting an event of some kind.  Located on a 26,500-acre lake, Richard B. Russell State Park offers some of Georgia's finest fishing and boating.  The new 18 hole golf course is located inside the Georgia state park, with 10 of the 18 holes skirting the shoreline of Lake Richard B. Russell.

The course was named Arrowhead Pointe because of the fact that several Indian sites were excavated near the park in 1980 before the lake was filled, indicating that Paleo-Indians lived in the area more than 10,000 years ago, and because the 18 holes are located on a peninsula surrounded by the pristine lake. Arrowheads can be found throughout the entire course to validate the Indian presence many years ago.
